Health and Safety Training
In many ways cost effective training is the pivotal point around which your Safety Management System revolves. Staff must be appropriately trained in order to approach their duties safely and competently. Evidence of this should be available. Our range of certificated and accredited seminars and training programmes are modified to suit clients' specific requirements. Training is delivered at the client's premises or at convenient facilities organised by Britrisk.
IOSH (Institute of Safety and Health) accredited 'Working Safely' (1 day).
Designed for staff who require an understanding of how their acts and omissions contribute to workplace safety. Delegates will be instructed in their legal 'Duty of care' to working colleagues and others on site as well as how to carry out their work in a safe manner as required by their employer.
IOSH (Institute of Safety and Health) accredited 'Managing Safely' (5 day).
Designed for non-specialist staff, who are responsible for operational safety. Delegates will learn how to take steps to ensure that the business operates within the law. This includes reducing the risk both of workplace injury and of corporate and personal liability.
Introduction to Corporate Safety and Risk Assessment (half day or 1 day).
Based on HS(G)65 (published by the Health and Safety Executive), designed for middle and senior managers who require an overview of how a simple, modern Safety Management System should be organised, implemented and managed.
Fire Warden / Responsible Person Training (half day or 1 day).
Designed for staff given responsibility for fire safety, including fire drills, use of extinguishers, Fire Risk Assessment and compliance with the 'Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order' effective October 1st 2006. Please browse our Fire Safety page.
Introduction to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) (half day).
Designed for staff who handle hazardous substances and also for managers with associated responsibilities. This course provides an overview of the relevant risk assessment process and how this should be used to manage and control the safe use and storage of hazardous substances.
Manual Handling (half day).
Designed for staff engaged in a wide range of lifting operations, in a variety of environments. Based on practical demonstrations, staff receive guidance on risks involved in manual handling tasks, how to reduce them and how to lift safely.
First Aid Training
Employers have an obligation under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (ACOP L74) to make adequate and appropriate First Aid provision for their workforce. Britrisk UK offers courses to train people as both First Aiders and Appointed Persons (to oversee First Aid needs and manage any incidents that may occur).
Stress Management In The Workplace
Over half a million people in Britain believe they are experiencing work related stress at a level that is making them ill. This leads to both genuine and fraudulent sick leave claims and significant potential for civil litigation. Britrisk specialises in an integrated approach to stress management, by which our qualified trainers will help to control and reduce workplace stress whilst improving the motivation and productivity of staff. Please also browse our LIFESTYLES SKILLS PAGE.
How to Win Contracts in the Construction Industry (1 day)
We will show you how adapting your safety management to the needs of the construction industry can significantly contribute to obtaining lucrative contracts. In recent years the Health & Safety Executive has put considerable pressure on the major UK building contractors to improve standards of site safety. This in turn has led to a tightening of procedures and pressure on smaller subcontractors to make major improvements. However the culture of poor safety standards in the industry means that those businesses that invest in safety will obtain a significant competitive advantage. We'll show you how to access this major opportunity. Please also browse our construction safety page.
If your needs aren't met by one of the above packages, contact us with no obligation to discuss your specific requirements. We'll be pleased to help.
